The Museum of the Fundação Cupertino de Miranda in Vila Nova de Famalicão is a cultural institution at the service of the community and its mission is the dissemination of Modern and Contemporary Art, especially of Surrealism.
Its main objectives are the study, documentation, conservation and dissemination of its collection.
With an important collection composed essentially of works by Portuguese artists, it reinforces an increasingly representative heritage of Portuguese Surrealism, continuously enriching the collection and allowing the works of its collection to be made visible through a succession of exhibitions.
Late in 2018, the Museum of the Fundação Cupertino de Miranda, in the person of its Director Dr. Pedro Álvares Ribeiro launched âme moi a creative challenge:
The creation of a capsule collection of bags inspired by the work of the main artists of Surrealism present in the Museum' collection.
The choice fell, in a first phase, on the great master of Portuguese Surrealism, Mário Cesariny (1923-2006) and especially on the work of his authorship "Untitled, 1948", which was the motto and creative principle for this challenge.
The proposal of âme moi, its model Amália, now reinvented, was presented at the Museum of Surrealism, Cupertino de Miranda Foundation, on the occasion of the thirteenth edition of Encontros de Escrita last November 2019.
This edition is limited to 23 copies and it is available for sale also at the Museum's store.
